Tiger Moth Flying Experience (20 Minutes)
Turning the clock back to the good old days of open cockpits and Biggles! You will enjoy a rare opportunity to fly in the De Havlland DH28A Tiger Moth, the Tiger was built in thousands before & during the last World War as a trainer for the RAF & Air Forces across the British Empire. It was also a favourite aeroplane for private owners in the golden age of flying in the thirties of the last century. On your flight you will sit up front in the cockpit and the pilot will be in the rear. A modern electronic ‘intercom’ has replaced the original air tubes through which the instructor and student had to shout. Following an on ground briefing on the controls you will don your flying jacket & goggles & get strapped into the cock pit. The plane’s engineer will swing the propeller making the engine roar into action. With its slow take off speed and open cockpit you will enjoy vintage flying at its best! When airborne, your instructor will invite you to handle the controls of the Tiger Moth if desired and experience the thrill of flying one of these beautiful old machines. A Tiger Moth Trial Lesson Flight certificate will be awarded afterwards with photo opportunities for guests. A fantastic hands on experience of vintage flying.
